Thats right.. The long awaited first world tour stop has finally arrived. Players vying for the first $50,000 competition have been arriving all week into Istanbul, all hoping to kick Vo0 from his number 1 perch and get their hands on the $15,000 first prize.

The player list is rather long, but some of the more well known names include:

There are many other excellent players in the roster, and anyone could take it if they have been practising hard enough. Of course, Vo0 will be the favourite at this time, with a pretty much undefeated record across every tournament he has played. Some of the others have come mighty close however and perhaps this time, well see an upset. Cmon the underdogs!!

We asked some of the players who join us in our channel (#painkiller.euro @ quakenet) to give us their predictions for the first 3. Heres a few of those:

  21. Mkay, been surfing around a few PK sites, and been unable to find the complete list of participants or even a schedule. Where to look?

  30. Interesting to see the development of the WT.. almost none of the ‘bigger’ esports sites have posted anything about it’s start (except clansites like schroet or dignitas, who have players over there…).
    What’s the deal about the “media impact” if almost noone is interested anymore?!

    However, gl and hf to all players over there in turkey!

    pk isn´t ready for media and cpl is doing everything that pk can´t become big.

    ok someone got pk-tv ip or a good demo side? 🙂

    i doubt that everything will happen like from cpl announced. cpl + pk must turn into a desaster.

  34. I tend to agree with you guys (handyman and toifel). The lack of news, updates, tournament brackets, exposure is somewhat depressing especially since this game could get really big!!!

    They really need to come up with a better way for fans to track the progress of the players, tournaments, etc.

    Also if PCF could make a decent demo player or even pktv that would provide a tremedous boost for the community.

    Let’s just hope it gets better soon!

  45. i guess there’s gonna be demos, and there will definitely demos on the fnatic website after the tournament (they always put their demos on net).

    here are my fav’s for this tourney:

  49. Interesse on PK is already decreasing (IMHO) due to the reasons i have mentioned.

    Painkiller related quakenet channels are shrinking. Onlineplay is shrinking. Website-visites are shrinking…
    Something wents wrong.
