NewPK 0.1

This mod does not want to change too much PK’s gameplay, it just try to make it more fair and fun.
I made it because PK is a game i liked a lot (even if its obviously not perfect:) and it was sad to see it dying hated by so much people.
Remember this is a 0.1 version: everything is still in testing and could be changed.

NewPK 0.1 features

-New Stakegun damage system: if you have between 1 and 10 stakes ammo (like when you spawn;), your stakes damage will be 100; if you have more than 10 stakes ammo, your stakes damage will be 165 and stakes will have a flaming graphic effect.

-Telefrags removed

-Weapons balance changes:
.Removed Electro esponential damage increase (that made it so overpowered)
.Electro + Driver combo is back! The electrified shuryken inflicts lot of damage in a small area for few seconds but requires 50 Electro ammo.
.Shurykens explode on impact; explosions damage reduced.
.25% increase in stake-nade blast and 12% increase in its radius.
.Doubled Freezer bolt speed.
.Decreased Painkiller combo damage from 300 to 150.
.Increased damage and radius of Boltgun/Heater.
.Increased SMG damage.

-New version of PK maps: these maps have some small changes to fit properly the NewPK gameplay features (to list all changes would be too long…the most “untouched” map is Sacred anyway).
.Completed ones: DM_New_Psycho, DM_New_Q3DM6, DM_New_Absinthe, DM_New_Sacred, DM_New_Meatless.

NOTE: if you dont have the base DM_1v1_meatless and DM_q3dm6_pain maps you will have problems running the “New” versions!
Download them from the following links (and put the .pkm files in Paikiller/Data folder):

-Jumpad bug fixed

-Increased Bronze armor’s protection from 33% to 40%

-New customizable HUD (look below for the console commands)

-Hitsounds and killsound

-Binded “vote yes” and “vote no” commands to F1 and F2

-Added Minigun to PCF gamemode

-DMPCF_Mandra2 included: best map for PCF gamemode

-Fixed Voosh gamemode (missing weapons added)

-Secret MP player models unlocked

  1. omg,i am a bird in NewPK,the speed fast than original.about the stakegun damage,i think you just make it 150 damage enough,don’t need too more things.telefrag removed would be you make some new textures for the teleport?the teleport of the new map not work for me,i think this is because i had deleted some textures,so my pk only *550MB*,i don’t want to rework for my pk 🙁

    the original pk has some bugs,you must be fixed it,such as the “decals sky”,you can not off it.make a competition server settings for the default config,you can consult the cpl settings.and make a “LimitServerFPS” option in game server menu,at last rework the interface in game also important

  3. Here some tips.
    1.U have to put rocketfix in(very impotant)
    2.the q3dm6 map isnt playable for me(may its my hardware)test it and if u have the same prob then fix it
    3.try to make the scoreboards like in pk++
    4.the time in the upper screen is to big…small it down
    5.erm…on new_meatless is quad damage…thats stupid for a 1on1 game….fix it

  4. BTW: Quad in New_Meatless, Sacred have a Quad too
    (/callvote powerups 0)- I agree that its useles for Duel but maybe someone like to play FFA or TLB there …

  5. yeah! its nice, but when i enter the commands for the hud tweaks then, the game crashes :/
    and a new idea:
    make a new gui (main menu…)
    and, can u create a simple hud (like pk++) ??

  6. mmm strange that you crash…have you tried deleting your cfg? And if it still crash you can modify the commands in the cfg (they all start with HUD_ )
    The newpk gui can be done easily but im not sure about the simple hud.

    GAMESNET TM1;; gamemode: duel (forced)
    GAMESNET TM2;; gamemode: ffa (but you can callvote it)

    Flamethrower, please (for closecombat i MP please),
    Drivercombo increase the damage … no increasing!

  9. but some things are strange crazy:
    why would increasing smg, if it already more powerful than minigun. smg sucks.

    pk combo only 150? it is very hard to frag with pk combo, so i like 300 and respect such frags.

    bronze armor 40 is good: 40, 60, 80 – balanced all armors

    veru good quick bind commands

    minigun in pscf is good, since than the combo works (quad dmg)

    about secret models: since the release of k’s powermad, it was no secret, so it is not dangerous, though with this cheat the sp challenge is worthless.

    electro balanced – the best choise

    stakegun decreased – no…thats the bigest mist

  10. You are wrong smg is really useless in normal pk: minigun is lot better.
    It was not that difficult to make a frag with the pk combo: you could stand in front of a teleporter shooting it and making random frags (without a big skill;)

  11. about stakes…you dont know how many ppl hated them…they were too powerful to be a spawn weapon and they were too often random shots.
    In newpk the problem is partially fixed because when u span u can just make 100 dmg and after u pick up some ammo the dmg is increased to 165 (that is still a good amount, but not too much)
