DM_Blink Version History
————————-

Version: 0.75 (6/22/2005)

Updates:

-MH Room moved closer to SA room
-New teleport configuration – got rid of double-sided teleport
-Extra shotgun ammo removed – Shotguns contain only shotgun ammo on the map

Tell me what you think about the new teleport configuration. Something had to be done about it, and this is what I came up with. It helps reduce telefrags as well as getting rid of the teleport “shuffle.”

This map is about done in terms of gameplay, and I have art under way (not featured in the beta releases), but not near complete. If you want your opinions to make a difference, state them now. Thanks.

Qtracker 4.0 Painkiller Mapshot

I fixed the mapshot pack for Qtracker 4.0. You can download it here (it needs to be copied to ..\Qtracker\Mapshots):

http://mitglied.lycos.de/romerogames/temp/Painkiller-Standard.qtmp

Note: direct download works only with FireFox or similar. If you still use IE, you have to browse the folder and download it manually:

http://mitglied.lycos.de/romerogames/temp/

Btw: Qtracker supports now mods for Painkiller. This also includes PK++ servers.

Vo0 once again did a flawless tournament without a single loss and played really well. Fatal1ty also did show that he really is going for that number 1 spot. The biggest surprises is that Zaccabus played really well during the whole tournament, even took a map against Fatal1ty and ended at 8th place. Same with deatz who impressed many by beating Worre and Daler and played really good against Zyz (1-2 in maps) and Gellehsak (1-2 in maps).

WT Stop Sweden

The World Tour stop in Sweden is well under way with most of the field now eliminated. fnatic.Vo0 and Fatal1ty remain the only individuals in the Winners bracket while fnatic.Ztrider, 4K^Zaccubus, fnatic.gellehsak, check6\lexer, SK|zyz and stermy remain in the lower brackets.

Its anyones tournament but the sensible money has to be on yet another Fata / Vo0 final. Who will it be?!? Catch the excellent coverage (as always) from TSN via TVSN HERE. Brackets for all the matches HERE and HERE. GL to All remaining!

Seedings cpl sweden

the seedings are made by the point standings as usual, enjoy!

DM_Blink Version History
————————-

Version: 0.7 (6/10/2005)

Updates:

-Central room sized down a little
-GA and SA rooms switched
-Brand new GA room
-Weapon/ammo placement tweaked
-MH room modified

From the testing that I have done personally, the issues in my mind have been:

1. Shotguns seem like they might be really powerful on this map. Should I remove the extra shotgun ammo? Should I have just one shotgun? Should there even BE a shotgun?

2. You can RJ from the hallway at the GA and be partially in the air somewhat before you enter the GA room, and land on the GA. Should I modify the GA room slightly (add some sort of a barrier, most likely) so you can’t do this?

I have been working with dj and SteLam and it has helped a lot, but I would like to get more feedback from other good players as well. Thanks in advance.

Again, feel free to play on my server: Tectonic 1v1++. The password is scrim.

Play.it – booms Interview

Right after I brought you the CPL World Tour Brazil Roundup(http://www.sk-gaming.com/feature/492/1/) I decided to talk to the player that has really impressed me after the Brazil event. I have tracked down booms in order to ask him quite a few questions regarding his gaming career, Painkiller, CPL World Tour and some off topic questions about his personal life.

CPL Brazil Roundup + Interviews

With just ten days left until the CPL World Tour Sweden, tension is really high as Painkiller players gather to bootcamp with each other just to make sure that everything is working properly. Every hour of practise counts because it will definitely pay off in the near future when a crowd of the best Painkiller players that world has to offer will assemble at Dreamhack, Sweden. Which player will be the one who can make an impact that will jolt the community and become rich by winning $15.000? Noone knows for sure because there are several candidates.

Having an opportunity I would like to present you yet another Painkiller feature. I decided to rethink about what happened few weeks ago, in Brazil. If you missed the Painkiller action which took place in Rio de Janeiro, you can check out what happened there in my newest feature. But it’s not the end as I have something more for you. I was able to track down two of SK Painkiller players, Stephan ‘SteLam’ Lammert and Benjamin ‘zyz’ Bohrmann to ask them some questions about the recent Brazil stop and other World Tour relating things. If you are interested enough then click the link below.

Dignitas PK Spotlight 13 SteLam

Continuing again with our series of Painkiller player spotlights, number 13 is SK|SteLam.

Check it out – http://www.team-dignitas.com/news.php?newsid=1162

Team Dignitas: Getting back to PainKiller, how much time are you putting in practising for the World Tour?

SteLam: I’d say I practice for a total of about 10 days a month with like 4 to 6 hours a day during bootcamps. On a normal day I play for about an hour or not at all. I like to take breaks after tournaments, to clear my mind and relax.

CPL WT Sweden site is up!

Finally after some weeks of waiting the CPL WT Sweden page is up with some info regarding the event in Jönköping.

Here you could find information about how to travel to Dreamhack, register to participate in the event as well as the rules for the WT game Painkiller among other things. I believe this site will consist of more information the closer we get to the event.

Version: 0.6 (6/03/2005)

Updates:

-Central room sized larger
-Brand new SA room
-Ammo moved around and changed/added
-MH room moved a bit, upper hallway adjusted

For this release, I am looking for feedback on gameplay aspects, including:

1. Is armor placement balanced?
2. Is the weapon placement balanced?
3. Are there adequate health pickups and are they in good locations?
4. Are spawn points in good locations?
5. Is there enough ammo, too much ammo, and is the ammo in good locations?

Please reply by posting on this forum or emailing me at the address listed above. Please explain in detail in your responses.

As you can see, I AM actually moving the map forward faster than meatless. Please respond to this by posting feedback promptly. Thank you.

DreamCatcher in Trouble?

Spotted on Blues News. It seems that Dreamcatcher may be facing some trouble financially and is also now going to be embroiled in a dispute with 3000AD (Read more HERE). This is the first we have seen/heard of DreamCatchers financial situation and certainly asks questions as to whether we shall ever see PKTV. I personally hope the situation is better for DreamCatcher than Mr Smart alledges and that PKTV does make it out sometime soon for the rest of the CPL WT. Time will tell…

I am hoping to get this map out a LOT faster than pha3z and I got meatless out (read weeks, not months), so prompt response is appreciated!
