Version: 0.76 (7/26/2005)

Updates:

-Large rocket packs exchanged for small rocket packs

That’s it haha. I’ve been working on art, but I’m not going to include art in a public release until the map is done. So for now, you get the ugly version . I have no plans to change any gameplay elements on the map at this point. This is finalized gameplay unless something huge comes up, which I do not forsee. Hope you like it!

If anyone wants to post in support of the map being used on the World Tour, please email CPL|Justin at justin.blanchard@thecpl.com

Feel free to post your thoughts about the map here or on Vicious’ thread at: http://forums.thecpl.com/ubb/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=30;t=000290

DM_Blink Version History
————————-

Version: 0.75 (6/22/2005)

Updates:

-MH Room moved closer to SA room
-New teleport configuration – got rid of double-sided teleport
-Extra shotgun ammo removed – Shotguns contain only shotgun ammo on the map

Tell me what you think about the new teleport configuration. Something had to be done about it, and this is what I came up with. It helps reduce telefrags as well as getting rid of the teleport “shuffle.”

This map is about done in terms of gameplay, and I have art under way (not featured in the beta releases), but not near complete. If you want your opinions to make a difference, state them now. Thanks.

DM_Blink Version History
————————-

Version: 0.7 (6/10/2005)

Updates:

-Central room sized down a little
-GA and SA rooms switched
-Brand new GA room
-Weapon/ammo placement tweaked
-MH room modified

From the testing that I have done personally, the issues in my mind have been:

1. Shotguns seem like they might be really powerful on this map. Should I remove the extra shotgun ammo? Should I have just one shotgun? Should there even BE a shotgun?

2. You can RJ from the hallway at the GA and be partially in the air somewhat before you enter the GA room, and land on the GA. Should I modify the GA room slightly (add some sort of a barrier, most likely) so you can’t do this?

I have been working with dj and SteLam and it has helped a lot, but I would like to get more feedback from other good players as well. Thanks in advance.

Again, feel free to play on my server: Tectonic 1v1++. The password is scrim.

DM_Blink Version History

Version: 0.6 (6/03/2005)

Updates:

-Central room sized larger
-Brand new SA room
-Ammo moved around and changed/added
-MH room moved a bit, upper hallway adjusted

For this release, I am looking for feedback on gameplay aspects, including:

1. Is armor placement balanced?
2. Is the weapon placement balanced?
3. Are there adequate health pickups and are they in good locations?
4. Are spawn points in good locations?
5. Is there enough ammo, too much ammo, and is the ammo in good locations?

Please reply by posting on this forum or emailing me at the address listed above. Please explain in detail in your responses.

As you can see, I AM actually moving the map forward faster than meatless. Please respond to this by posting feedback promptly. Thank you.

Feel free to play on my Chicago server (sorry Euros), Tectonic 1v1++. The password is scrim.

I am hoping to get this map out a LOT faster than pha3z and I got meatless out (read weeks, not months), so prompt response is appreciated!

Survey

The purpose of this survey is for pha3z and I to compile some demographic and psychographic information about the painkiller community. The statistics we compile from this informal poll will be used to help us get sponsorship for our map, meatless, which will be used in the CPL World Tour. We hope that everyone will take the couple minutes to complete this survey – your time is very valuable to us.

If you wish to take the survey, you may post here with your response, or if you would rather do it by email so your information will not be made public on this forum, you may email your answers to:

phatec@gmail.com

Your personal information will not be given seen by anyone except pha3z and myself (unless you post it here), except in that it will be a part of our compilation of statistics.

DM_Sacred_booh Version 0.1 Beta

Version: Beta 0.1

Updates:

-Replaced rocket pack by BA with SMG weapon
-Changed minigun ammo to SMG ammo: 30 ammo per box
-Swapped boltgun for SG in MH room
-Placed 3 boltgun ammo packs: 22 ammo per box?
-Added a SG by pad in SA room
-Removed sky because it was causing a crazy bug

The purpose of this is to test the idea of replacing the minigun ammo on a map with SMG+SMG ammo. The idea is that it takes a bit of emphasis off of the RL/Chain weapon control, allows for a greater chance of picking up a weapon upon spawning (slightly reduced spawn kills perhaps?), and creates a couple new weapons for a player to control and think about while playing. Heck, it might be more fun to play as a newbie also.. it’s pretty upsetting when you come into PK the first time and all you get to do is run around with a stake launcher because there are no RLs to pick up.

Feel free to test the map on my server, “Tectonic’s 1v1.” The password is scrim. Share this password with whomever you like! The server would be public if I could afford to pay for it ;).

Tell me what you think.. I left the major item placement alone and just added in the weapons and ammo basically. Sorry, but the sky had to go! The weirdest bug I’ve ever seen appeared when I first modified the map.. removing the sky fixed it, so that’s the way it is. I suspect most of you don’t use the sky anyway.

DM_1v1_meatless Version 0.65

Version: Beta 0.65 (2/05/2005)

Updates:

-Optimized geometry for patch 1.61
-Other performance optimizations for patch 1.61
-Artistic changes and additions made

This is basically an update to fix the map for 1.61.. the FPS on the map was awful in the new patch, but now it’s fixed. Please let us know if you find any other bugs. pha3z and I are wrapping up our work on this map.
